About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12-week program focused on hands-on experience in retail store operations. You will gain exposure to sales, marketing, merchandising, and business management. The program includes time spent with a Sales Representative to learn about outside sales and structured collaboration with leadership. You will also work with other interns on a team-based project to address a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to meet customer needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and manage inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and follow all store policies.
- Support team members with customer concerns and shared tasks.
- Collaborate on a project to solve a specific business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
