About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10 to 12-week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in our retail stores, offering insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business sales by traveling with a Sales Representative and working closely with your management team. Interns also complete a collaborative project that addresses real business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional customer service in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to customers.
- Develop an understanding of store merchandise and inventory.
- Restock shelves and support inventory management.
- Contribute to visual merchandising efforts.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions and product mixing.
- Perform general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries and organize stockrooms.
- Participate in training sessions.
- Adhere to safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention protocols.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns.
- Collaborate on a team-based project addressing business challenges.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Internal candidates must have received at least a meets expectations rating on their most recent appraisal and completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- Preferred: Rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university.
- Preferred: Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Preferred: One year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Preferred: Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Preferred: Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish.
