About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in our retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with your management team. You will also collaborate with fellow interns on a project that addresses a real business challenge.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training sessions and follow store policies.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a team-based project that addresses a business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university at the time of the internship.
- Must be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, specifically Spanish.
- Internal candidates must have received at least a meets expectations (3) rating on their most recent performance appraisal and completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
