About the role#
Semtech is hiring an Analog Design Engineer Intern to join the Signal Integrity Products group in Calgary. You will work directly with our team on high-speed analog chips that power data centers, enterprise networking, and 5G infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid internship for a 12 to 16 month term starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, verify, and characterize analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Work on phase-locked loops, equalizers, and optical or cable receivers and drivers.
- Use advanced CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of analog blocks.
- Write scripts to automate IC design and validation tasks.
- Collaborate with senior designers who provide ongoing mentorship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program.
- A solid grasp of analog electronic circuit fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Exposure to transistor level circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with CAD tools like Cadence Virtuoso.
- Proficiency in Matlab or scripting languages such as Python.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Calgary, Alberta.
- The position is full-time for a 12 to 16 month term.
- Compensation is $26 to $28.50 CAD per hour.
