About the role#
SECURE is looking for a student to join our Field Services team in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in environmental services, waste management, remediation, and field operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support customer projects, environmental cleanup, and emergency response. This role is designed to build your technical and operational capabilities while providing exposure to potential career paths within the company.
What you'll do#
- Promote a safety-first culture by participating in tailgate meetings, hazard assessments, and site inspections.
- Provide field waste management support, including sampling, testing, packaging, and transporting waste.
- Support environmental and remediation projects through hands-on cleanup and field service work.
- Participate in emergency and incident response activities.
- Maintain regulatory compliance by following TDG requirements and waste-handling standards.
- Keep accurate field documentation, such as notes, manifests, bills of lading, and GPS records.
- Operate equipment including forklifts and pumps.
- Collaborate with project managers, team members, and contractors to achieve project goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Business.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
- Interest in hands-on fieldwork and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work.
- Willingness to travel to customer and project locations throughout Saskatchewan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a changing environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
