About the role#
This is a 10-week internship focused on AI and advanced analytics projects for the US market. You will join an agile team of data scientists, actuaries, and machine learning engineers to solve business problems in mortality risk quantification, insurance pricing, and ML fairness. You will use tools including Python, Jupyter, and git to complete your work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with training, interpreting, and conducting experiments with machine learning models.
- Write ML pipelines while applying SOLID design principles to develop analytics software.
- Help the team understand the financial impact of machine learning models.
- Research and present a final project to the Americas Data Analytics staff.
- Communicate project outcomes using MS PowerPoint.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, preferably in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Ability to write working Python code.
- Completed coursework in probability, statistics, or machine learning.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week remote.
- Compensation: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.
- Employment Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Relocation: Assistance is available for moves within the U.S.
