About the role#
This is a 10-week intensive internship focused on management liability underwriting. You will support the Financial Institutions and Commercial Public Management Liability teams. The role includes rotations through both areas to help you gain a practical understanding of the Executive Risks marketplace. You will also research and present a final project to the department staff.
What you'll do#
- Work with underwriters to assess risk profiles using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Determine appropriate policy pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Analyze financial statements and various risk exposures to produce underwriting reports.
- Assist with departmental projects, file documentation, and compliance tasks.
- Collaborate with staff to analyze and improve broker relationships.
- Evaluate market trends and macro factors to help determine optimal portfolio breakdown.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree, preferably as an incoming Junior.
- Strong financial analysis, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- This position is based in New York, New York.
- The role is full-time and paid at an hourly rate of $25.50 to $27.50.
- We operate on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working remotely.
- Relocation assistance is available within the U.S.
- Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
