About the role#
The Scholars Strategy Network is hiring a part-time Policy Intern or Fellow for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports our team in connecting university-based scholars with policymakers and the public to improve policy. You will work 10-20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $16-$18, depending on your experience. This position is remote, though you may choose to work from our Boston office.
What you'll do#
- Connect scholars and their research with local, state, and federal policymakers and civic organizations.
- Edit academic writing to make it clear and accessible for public and policy audiences.
- Track federal, state, and local legislation and policy debates in areas like health, education, and voting.
- Help members submit public comments and prepare written or oral testimony.
- Maintain project data using Salesforce and Asana.
What you'll need#
- You are currently an advanced undergraduate or graduate student.
- You understand legislative and policymaking processes.
- You write and proofread well.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
- You have experience with or are willing to learn Salesforce and Asana.
- We welcome students from fields including Political Science, International Relations, Public Health, Communications, Sociology, Economics, and Journalism.

- The position is remote with an optional hybrid component in Boston, Massachusetts.
- This is a paid, part-time role for the Fall 2026 term, ending in December 2026.

Scholars Strategy Network is a nonprofit organization based in Boston. It connects journalists, policymakers, and civic leaders with research from academics to help address policy issues. The network maintains a community of researchers who contribute their work to inform public debate. It employs approximately 45 people.
