    About the role#

    The Fiscal Policy Intern role provides an opportunity to gain experience in the Economics and Fiscal Policy Division. You will rotate through four different branches to learn about the functions and responsibilities of the division. This position involves contributing to the work of the government through various tasks and projects over a two-year term.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in budget planning and financial management.
    • Conduct economic analysis and forecasting.
    • Support policy development and analysis.
    • Participate in tasks that contribute to provincial fiscal management and reporting.
    • Gain exposure to federal and provincial fiscal relations, the legislative process, and the production of demographic and social statistics.

    What you'll need#

    • A recent degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Public Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in economics is preferred.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • The ability to explain technical issues in clear, simple language.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
    • No previous work experience is required.

    • Location: Edmonton, Alberta.
    • Term: Summer 2027 start.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time (36.25 hours per week).
    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
