The Economics and Fiscal Policy Division plays a central role in shaping Alberta’s fiscal strategy. This internship offers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of provincial budget planning, financial management, and economic analysis. Over the course of the program, interns will rotate through four different branches to gain exposure to policy development, legislative processes, and the production of demographic and social statistics.
What you'll do#
- Assist in budget planning and financial management processes.
- Conduct economic analysis and forecasting to support government decision-making.
- Support the development and analysis of provincial policies.
- Participate in projects that contribute to the division’s fiscal management and reporting functions.
- Rotate between four branches within the Economics and Fiscal Policy Division to gain broad exposure to divisional operations.
What you'll need#
- A recent degree in Economics, Finance, Law, Public Administration, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree in economics.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical information into clear, simple language.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration within the division.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment to meet divisional objectives.
