About the role#
This is a temporary, full-time position based in Edmonton. You will work 36.25 hours per week on a term of up to two years. This role supports the Ministry of Infrastructure in delivering capital projects and maintaining government-owned facilities.
What you'll do#
- Review electrical designs, technical reports, drawings, and specifications for building projects.
- Investigate electrical system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Conduct engineering analysis, research applicable codes and standards, and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Participate in site visits and meetings to document conditions, collect data, and support project delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors on capital projects and facility improvements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of electrical design standards and guidelines.
- Engage in professional development and mentorship opportunities.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Eligibility for in-training status with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driving license.
- New graduates with less than two years of experience or previous electrical engineering experience are considered assets.
