    About the role#

    This is a temporary, full-time position based in Edmonton. You will work 36.25 hours per week on a term of up to two years. This role supports the Ministry of Infrastructure in delivering capital projects and maintaining government-owned facilities.

    What you'll do#

    • Review electrical designs, technical reports, drawings, and specifications for building projects.
    • Investigate electrical system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
    • Conduct engineering analysis, research applicable codes and standards, and evaluate emerging technologies.
    • Participate in site visits and meetings to document conditions, collect data, and support project delivery.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors on capital projects and facility improvements.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of electrical design standards and guidelines.
    • Engage in professional development and mentorship opportunities.

    What you'll need#

    • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Eligibility for in-training status with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
    • A valid Class 5 Alberta driving license.
    • New graduates with less than two years of experience or previous electrical engineering experience are considered assets.
