About the role#
North Shore Strategies is hiring Campaign Field Fellows to support Democratic campaign efforts in Schenectady, New York. This paid, field-based position focuses on direct voter contact and door-to-door canvassing. Fellows gain hands-on experience in political organizing, voter engagement, and campaign operations. You will receive training on messaging, canvassing technology, and grassroots techniques before starting your outreach in assigned communities.
What you'll do#
- Visit voters at their homes to conduct door-to-door canvassing.
- Deliver persuasive campaign messaging.
- Identify supporters, undecided voters, and gather voter feedback.
- Use campaign technology to record voter responses and track results.
- Meet daily goals for door-knocking and voter contacts.
- Attend team meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Ability to walk door-to-door and approach strangers to discuss political campaigns.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Availability to work at least 3 shifts per week.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- A reliable, punctual, and goal-oriented approach to your work.
- Interest in Democratic candidates and causes.
- Majors in Political Science, Communications, History, Sociology, or Economics are relevant, though not required.
