About the role#
The Community Team at Schmidt Sciences designs and executes convenings across various programs and initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in the operations, strategy, logistics, and creative production of these events. Interns will own a defined project aligned with team priorities and present their work at an end-of-summer showcase. This role offers opportunities for professional development and cross-office collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Community Team to plan and execute events and convenings for various programs.
- Coordinate logistical aspects of events, such as venue booking and vendor management.
- Provide on-site support during events, including set-up and troubleshooting.
- Assist the team with administrative tasks, including scheduling and note-taking.
- Participate in debrief and feedback sessions following events to identify areas for improvement.

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Technical proficiency with event management platforms, databases, or project management tools.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or Human Resources.

- This is an on-site position based in Arlington, Virginia.
- The internship is for the Summer 2026 term.
- This is a part-time, paid position.
- The role requires the ability to travel within the U.S. up to 10% of the time.
