About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op position based in Troy, Michigan. You will work on-site to help develop software for humanoid joint actuators. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to build and refine control systems for robotic hardware.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software algorithms to control humanoid joint actuators.
- Partner with hardware engineers to integrate your software with physical components.
- Run tests to verify system performance and operation.
- Collect and analyze sensor and actuator data to improve control algorithms.
- Document your development processes, including code and technical reports.
- Assist the team with other project tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering degree program.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Experience with control systems theory, PID controllers, feedback loops, and sensor integration.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to document work clearly and communicate effectively with a team.
- Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
