About the role#
Savista is hiring a Registry Intern to complete the NCRA Practicum. This role is open to students currently enrolled in a cancer information management program. You will work remotely to gain hands-on experience in cancer registry operations, data analysis, and program accreditation.
What you'll do#
- Review source documents to identify reportable cancer cases.
- Determine single versus multiple primaries for patient records.
- Verify and enter demographic information at the time of diagnosis.
- Analyze medical records to code primary cancer characteristics.
- Perform statistical analyses and prepare reports for research and quality evaluation.
- Assist with registry operations, including data quality assurance and follow-up activities.
- Support cancer program accreditation by coordinating committee activities and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a cancer information management program.
- Ability to analyze medical record source documents.
- Knowledge of cancer characteristics coding.
- Experience in data quality assurance.
- Familiarity with privacy standards and institutional policy.
- Academic background in Health Administration, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, or Nursing.
