About the role#
Lake Country Co-op is seeking a Student Gas Bar Clerk to join the team at our Food Store in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. This position is designed for students interested in retail store operations and customer service. You will work in a guest-facing environment, providing service at the fuel pump island and inside the store.
What you'll do#
- Provide service to guests, including dispensing fuel and operating the Point of Sale system.
- Assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner across various communication channels.
- Stock and face shelves, receive and price merchandise, and monitor code dates to ensure inventory freshness using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain a clean store environment by tidying shelves, bins, and displays, and keeping aisles clear of debris.
- Complete daily reconciliations and reports.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including those related to the sale of age-restricted items like lottery and tobacco.
What you'll need#
- Strong service orientation with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements, including standing for extended periods, working both inside and outside, and regularly lifting 20 to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Current WHMIS and propane dispensing certifications, or the willingness to obtain them.
- Enrollment in or interest in fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics is an asset.
