About the role#
Lake Country Co-op is seeking a Student Gas Bar Clerk to join the team at the Food Store in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan. This role is designed for students interested in retail store operations and customer service. The position requires a flexible schedule, including availability for after-school shifts, weekends, and holidays.
What you'll do#
- Provide service at fuel pump islands and in-store, including operating the point of sale system.
- Assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner across all communication channels.
- Maintain a clean store environment by tidying shelves, displays, and bins, and keeping aisles free of debris.
- Receive, price, and display merchandise as directed.
- Monitor inventory freshness by checking code dates and following first in, first out (FIFO) procedures.
- Complete daily reconciliations and required reports.
- Adhere to safety standards and company policies regarding the sale of age-restricted items such as tobacco and lottery products.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or interest in fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- Ability to work both inside and outside, stand for extended periods, and regularly lift 20 to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to obtain WHMIS and propane dispensing certifications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
- A service-oriented mindset and a flexible schedule.
