About the role#
This is a student or casual position based at the Gravelbourg Food Store. You will support daily store operations, assist customers, and ensure merchandise is stocked and maintained to department standards.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service by assisting shoppers and sharing product knowledge.
- Operate the Point of Sale system and pack customer purchases.
- Stock food merchandise according to store policies.
- Perform housekeeping tasks like cleaning and facing shelves.
- Help with meat preparation, including traying, wrapping, and pricing items.
- Maintain fresh, frozen, and smoked meat cases.
- Assist with the preparation of in-store products like sausage, hamburger, and bakery items.
- Receive, count, and sort merchandise.
- Use and maintain store equipment safely.
What you'll need#
- Experience in the procurement of merchandise.
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, outgoing attitude.
- Ability to solve problems as they arise.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to complete required training.
