    About the role#

    Lake Country Co-op is seeking a full-time Lumber Manager to join our Home Centre location in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Home Centre Team Leader, you will supervise team members, oversee inventory, and manage operations for a department supporting approximately $10.5 million in annual sales. This role requires a leader who can drive growth in sales and service while fostering a collaborative environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide legendary service to customers across various communication channels.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and customers.
    • Assist with preparing and presenting detailed, competitive quotes, materials takeoffs, and project packages using estimating software and in-store tools.
    • Champion Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
    • Lead team members through training, coaching, and performance management.
    • Assist in achieving budgeted goals related to pricing, margins, expenses, and inventory control.
    • Manage in-store merchandising, promotional campaigns, and adherence to brand standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, home improvement trends, and building code requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the home and building, hardware, construction, or retail industry, with at least 3 years of progressive leadership experience.
    • Experience in member relations, selling, health and safety, ordering, receiving, merchandising, and asset maintenance.
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
    • Sound analytical, planning, and execution skills with the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
    • A valid Class 5 license and the ability to travel within the Lake Country Co-op trading area for meetings and training.
    • Willingness and ability to obtain forklift and WHMIS certifications.
    • Ability to fulfill physical tasks common to the construction industry.
    • Co-operative Retailing System experience and construction accreditation are preferred.
