About the role#
The Deer Park Food Store is hiring a casual Food Cashier in Red Deer, Alberta. This position involves working less than 24 hours per week with availability required across weekdays and weekends, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. This is a unionized position with UFCW Local 401. The role is part of the Alberta Youth Incentive Program, which supports hiring individuals between the ages of 15 and 24.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and respond to their questions.
- Process sale transactions accurately.
- Bag purchases and assist customers with carrying items to their vehicles.
- Complete cash-up procedures at the end of shifts.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining merchandise displays.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as some heavy lifting is required.
