About the role#
As a Chemical Engineer Intern, you will join a project team to assist with engineering execution. You will work under the direction of senior engineers on projects involving the evaluation of new or upgraded air and water quality control systems and carbon capture technology. This role offers the opportunity to apply your academic background to real-world energy and industrial projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering team members with project execution and reporting.
- Track and evaluate project progress, activities, and data.
- Maintain knowledge of industry standards, control system design, and technology developments.
- Solve engineering problems using modern tools like automation and AI.
- Build or use automation to perform calculations, summarize technical documents, or draft design documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited BS program in Chemical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Solid understanding of mass balances and basic chemical engineering processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and strong PC proficiency.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications and process modeling software such as ASPEN.
- Programming or scripting skills and additional training in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence are valued.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
