About the role#
As an Engineered Materials Intern, you will join the team in Melville for the summer of 2027. You will work in one of three areas: Analytical Identification Review, Wire and Cable Certification Engineering, or Plastics Certification Engineering. This is a full-time, paid internship that lasts 10 to 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Interpret analytical laboratory data and compare findings against established material information.
- Support the identification and surveillance of certified materials and products.
- Review product constructions, material properties, and technical documentation.
- Determine evaluation and test requirements for various products.
- Analyze laboratory results to help confirm ongoing compliance.
- Gain hands-on experience in how wire, cable, and polymeric materials are evaluated and maintained under certification.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Materials Science, Biochemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- You are a self-starter who works well in challenging environments.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You possess the indefinite right to work in the United States.
