About the role#
Samuel, Son & Co. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Supply Chain Co-op student for a 4 to 8-month term. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply data-driven problem-solving to real-world procurement and supply chain operations. You will leverage data analytics to evaluate indirect vendor performance, analyze spend trends, and support supply chain segmentation strategies.
What you'll do#
- Extract, clean, and analyze purchasing and vendor data to track and identify cost-saving opportunities and generate actionable insights.
- Monitor indirect vendor spend patterns, market trends, and historical performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in categorizing and segmenting indirect suppliers based on spend, criticality, risk, and operational impact.
- Build and update visual reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical background with experience manipulating and interpreting data.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling. Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
- Solid understanding of supply chain fundamentals, procurement concepts, or vendor management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarize complex data into clear findings.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Employment Type: Full-time, paid.
- Compensation: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour (CAD), determined based on skills, education, and experience.
