About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Samsara, you will work on high-impact engineering challenges across our connected operations platform. Depending on your team, you may build backend infrastructure to scale data ingestion and storage for thousands of hardware assets, or work across the full stack to create user experiences that turn data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with product and design teams to iterate on features and deliver real customer value.
What you'll do#
- Build backend infrastructure for our IoT platform.
- Work across the full stack to create intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to develop and iterate on features.
- Participate in customer interviews and use metrics to ensure your work translates into outcomes.
- Engage in projects ranging from mobile development and embedded software to edge AI and real-time data processing.
What you'll need#
- Currently a junior-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Graduation date between Spring 2028 and Winter 2029.
- Hands-on experience with programming and related technologies.
- Ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams.
- Curiosity and a self-driven approach to solving complex problems.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Note: Candidates must not be enrolled in school full-time during the internship period.
