About the role#
As an Actuarial Intern at SageSure, you will join our Product Development and Commercial teams. You will gain hands-on experience predicting and modeling risk in challenging markets. This role involves working across multiple actuarial disciplines, including pricing and product. You will receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from our team while contributing to data-driven business solutions.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply actuarial techniques to develop pricing plans.
- Assist with technical and analytical assessments of complex business issues.
- Manage the development of current and future insurance products.
- Support modeling, research, and analysis on various ad-hoc projects.
- Complete an individual Capstone project or engage in collaborative teamwork.
- Network with employees, leaders, and fellow interns.
- Recommend solutions to industry issues and fulfill tasks assigned by team leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or a STEM-related field with a graduation date in 2028.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Passage of one or more actuarial exams.
- Familiarity with R, modeling packages, programming languages, and database software.
- Prior internship experience is preferred.
