About the role#
The Human Resource Business Partner Intern will support our HRBP team in delivering programs and services that align with business objectives and enhance the employee experience. This internship offers hands-on exposure to employee relations, talent management, workforce analytics, organizational development, performance management, and HR operations within a manufacturing and corporate environment. You will partner with HR Business Partners and cross-functional stakeholders to assist with key initiatives while developing a foundational understanding of strategic human resources practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist HRBPs in supporting leaders and employees.
- Compile and analyze HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, attrition, workforce planning, and team member engagement.
- Support workforce analytics, reporting, and presentations.
- Assist with performance management processes, documentation, talent review, and succession planning.
- Support investigations by maintaining documentation and tracking action items.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring activities.
- Participate in onboarding, orientation, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist team members with questions regarding career development, policies, or leadership.
- Help coordinate employee communication efforts.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence while maintaining confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and document best practices.
- Participate in cross-functional HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and a results-driven team mindset.
- Previous internship, leadership, campus organization, or work experience is preferred.
- Experience working with data and reporting tools, with familiarity in Microsoft Power BI or HR systems preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift (8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday).
- Compensation: $22 - $30 per hour based on experience.
- Work Modality: On-site.
