About the role#
S&C Electric Canada is hiring a Health & Safety Assistant for a 4-month co-op term. This role supports the Senior Manager with administrative and coordination tasks within a manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience in a safety-focused setting while assisting with data collection and program maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Collect and compile data to assist in the preparation of environmental and safety reports.
- Coordinate training and other health and safety programs.
- Maintain and update the safety tracking system.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Provide support for various health and safety projects.
- Complete additional administrative duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a registered post-secondary co-op program focused on Health and Safety or a similar field.
- Eligibility for a 4-month co-op term beginning in Winter 2027.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency, specifically the ability to navigate Physical Demands Analysis software.
- Professional communication skills for both written and verbal interactions.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Location & details#
- Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to April 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $21.80 to $27.00 per hour, based on year of study, academic program, and prior co-op experience.
- Physical requirements: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift or move objects up to 20lbs.
