About the role#
S&B is hiring a Project Engineering Intern to support engineering and design activities for small projects, alliances, and task forces. You will report to a Project Lead, Project Engineer, or Project Manager. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in project coordination within the oil and gas and pulp and paper industries.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate project squad check meetings to collect comments and manage documentation.
- Record action items, lessons learned, and meeting notes during model and MOC reviews.
- Initiate project change orders when scope changes affect the budget or schedule.
- Log project RFIs and track them to ensure timely closure.
- Perform cold eye reviews of engineering work packages to check for consistency, constructability, and accuracy.
- Maintain project logs, including action items and needs lists.
- Prepare FEL scope books and assist with project manuals.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, or current full-time enrollment in an engineering program.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and standards.
- Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information to clients, managers, and engineering teams.
- Willingness to occasionally visit field sites, which may involve walking, climbing, and exposure to outdoor conditions.
