About the role#
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer Intern to join our team in West Monroe. You will work under close supervision to handle routine assignments that use standard design techniques and procedures. This role requires daily collaboration within a multi-discipline team, involving regular face-to-face meetings and discussions to support project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform calculations to support design activities.
- Gather data to help prepare equipment specifications, purchase requisitions, and inquiry documents.
- Conduct field trips to existing plants to collect operating data and equipment information.
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings to ensure they meet specifications for simple equipment.
- Participate in the preparation of equipment lists, load summaries, design guides, and contract proposals.
- Assist with plant start-ups and other field assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
