About the role#
S&B is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer Intern to perform routine design tasks under supervision. This role focuses on building your professional knowledge and practical skills through hands-on assignments within an engineering, procurement, and construction environment.
What you'll do#
- Create simple design and construction drawings using manual or computer-assisted tools based on sketches or verbal instructions.
- Prepare project sketches and perform technical calculations for specific segments of a project.
- Assist with fundamental design tasks, including updating computer lists and proofreading reports.
- Use technical resources such as vendor prints, catalogs, and manuals to support design work.
- Participate in field assignments as needed, which may include visits to construction sites or operating plants.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, technical manuals, and operating instructions.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
