About the role#
S&B is hiring a Civil/Structural Engineer Intern to handle routine to moderately complex design tasks. You will work under general supervision to build your technical skills while contributing to project segments. This role involves applying standard engineering procedures and methodologies to solve practical problems.
What you'll do#
- Prepare design and construction drawings from sketches or instructions.
- Use manual or computer-assisted tools for drafting and design.
- Perform calculations for specific project segments.
- Support fundamental design tasks like updating computer lists and proofreading reports.
- Reference vendor prints, catalogs, and technical manuals.
- Assist with field assignments as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor degree program for Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Proficiency with computer software and automated engineering equipment.
- Ability to read safety rules, manuals, and technical correspondence.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
