About the role#
This internship offers the chance to work alongside subject matter experts in a team environment. You will focus on state and local taxation, helping identify tax savings for large clients. We provide training to help you build skills in tax consulting.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state companies.
- Assist with tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and draft technical memoranda on tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the practice.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work through ambiguity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.
- A valid driver’s license.
