About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work alongside tax experts in a team environment. You will focus on identifying tax savings for large-scale clients while developing your skills in state, local, federal, and international taxation.
What you'll do#
- Provide client service to multi-state companies to identify tax savings opportunities.
- Assist with tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions and representing them at hearings or appeal meetings.
- Draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Prepare protests and respond to inquiries from clients or tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform research.
- Process raw data to complete detailed tax calculations.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage ambiguity, and work on multiple assignments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license.
