About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Plano, Texas. You will work alongside tax experts to help multi-state companies identify tax savings and manage tax controversies. This role requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Identify tax savings opportunities for clients.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies by preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare formal protests.
- Research and write technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Your anticipated graduation date is within two to three years.
- You maintain a minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- You have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research.
- You possess a valid driver's license.
- You can manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work through ambiguity.
- You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- You have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
