About the role#
This role combines the Elevate early career program with an International Business Tax internship. Elevate is a leadership program for accounting students, featuring a three-day conference and year-long development opportunities. Participants build professional networks, refine communication skills, and gain exposure to firm leadership. By applying to this program, you are also applying for a client service internship focused on international tax.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a three-day leadership conference and subsequent development experiences.
- Build relationships with RSM professionals and peers from across the country.
- Strengthen skills in communication, collaboration, executive presence, and technology.
- Provide clients with strategic, integrated tax solutions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of foreign tax credits and conduct tax research.
- Develop an understanding of worldwide tax minimization, transfer pricing, and accounting for income taxes.
- Assist with IFRS/GAAP convergence and foreign assignment planning.
- Collaborate on cross-border tax strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited accounting degree program.
- Completion of 90 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Anticipated full-time associate start date of Fall 2029 or Winter 2030.
- Demonstrated leadership in student organizations or the community.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and multitask in a busy environment.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client locations.
- A minimum 3.4 GPA is preferred.

- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Dallas, McLean, or Boston.
- The internship is paid.
