About the role#
Honkamp, P.C. is seeking a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time, paid internship is based on-site in Cedar Falls, Iowa. You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects and gain exposure to the public accounting industry.
What you'll do#
- Prepare level 3 and 4 tax returns.
- Document work and assist with data entry and record maintenance.
- Learn the tax process, including scan, assembly, and verification procedures.
- Develop an understanding of basic income tax returns, extensions, and deadlines.
- Gain proficiency in tax, workflow, and verification software.
- Help with administrative tasks.
- Serve as an ambassador to your university.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in accounting.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Skills in time management, communication, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work in a shared office environment with moderate noise.
- Capacity to work at a computer in a stationary position for extended periods.
