About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will support our audit teams by gaining a deep understanding of our clients and their business operations. You will learn the RSM audit approach and apply it to real-world scenarios while working alongside experienced professionals. This internship provides hands-on experience in the accounting industry during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn about client expectations, their accounting systems, company values, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
- Assess business risks and evaluate internal control structures.
- Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve reporting issues.
- Draft financial statements following prescribed formats.
- Develop your understanding of firm tools and audit methodologies.
What you'll need#
- You must be an Accounting major working towards a B.A. or B.S. degree.
- Completion of at least 90 credit hours.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work well on a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable transportation to travel to assigned client locations.
