About the role#
We are looking for an Environmental Specialist Intern to join our team in Byhalia, Mississippi. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
What you'll do#
- Ensure the plant operates within its air, Title V, and other environmental permits.
- Manage annual reporting and submissions to the EPA and other regulatory bodies.
- Create and update storm water, spill prevention, hazardous waste, and dust control plans.
- Evaluate environmental data daily to monitor process changes.
- Report environmental Key Performance Indicators on a weekly basis.
- Support the implementation of new raw materials by assessing their impact on environmental approvals.
- Conduct internal audits according to company regulations.
- Train managers on legislative requirements and ensure staff follow all environmental protocols.
- Encourage employees to contribute to improvements within the Environmental Management System.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computers and data management.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Title V air permit compliance is preferred.
