About the role#
The Environmental Intern assists our environmental department in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will work across various company sites and projects to ensure we meet all environmental standards.
What you'll do#
- Conduct compliance reviews, inspections, and internal audits.
- Assist in obtaining environmental permits for plants, sites, and projects.
- Communicate environmental policies and best practices to field employees, managers, and contractors.
- Provide training and educational events for staff regarding environmental responsibilities.
- Review documentation at sites to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Advise managers on the use of reporting tools and assist in filing required regulatory reports.
- Maintain regular attendance and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- High school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel or work away from home when required.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Commitment to safety, including strict adherence to OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing.
