About the role#
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern will work with the EHS team to maintain safety and health standards. You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world objectives and help the team reach safety goals. This position is based in Candler, North Carolina, and runs for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and implementing safety and environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Update and maintain EHS documentation to support standardization.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the team during site visits by handling documentation, observations, and follow-ups.
- Analyze and organize data to identify trends and prioritize business focus areas.
- Contribute to special projects that improve safety standards or address business priorities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Associate degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data management and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
- A professional and courteous attitude when working with others.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Strict adherence to all company policies and safety procedures.
