About the role#
As a Structural Analysis Intern, you will support the Structural Analysis Team in performing detailed simulations and physics-based analysis. You will contribute to vehicle design and analysis activities, focusing on the validation and improvement of our suite of space systems and components. This position offers the chance to apply engineering concepts to solve real challenges while working alongside our professional staff.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with your mentor and team members to apply engineering knowledge to actual projects.
- Perform simulations, design validation, and analysis tasks.
- Attend regular 1:1 meetings with supervisors to track progress and discuss learning objectives.
- Participate in tech talks and connect with other interns and employees through social and professional events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate degree program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, such as internships, laboratory work, or project experience.
- Preferred: A GPA of 3.5 or higher and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Preferred: Experience with CAD/CAM, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Statics and Dynamics, or Siemens NX.
Location & details#
- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks starting in May or June 2027.
- Compensation: $28.00 per hour.
- Status: This is a paid internship. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
