About the role#
RMS Energy Co, LLC is hiring a Power Systems Engineering Intern to support transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers to learn about power systems and engineering tools. This role involves developing scripts for power system analysis and assisting with ongoing engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Write automation scripts using Python, Excel VBA, SQL, Fortran, MSAccess, epcl, and C++.
- Assist with data analysis and the development of database software.
- Help implement and maintain power engineering software.
- Create algorithms for power system analysis and integrate new technologies.
- Support data manipulation and software tool interfacing.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, data entry, and email.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug tests.
- An educational focus in software engineering or coding is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Fortran, or C++ is a plus.
