About the role#
The Student Rad Tech works under the supervision of a Registered Technologist to perform diagnostic procedures. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality exams while building a cooperative relationship with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel. The position is on-site in Newport News, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Assist radiologists in performing radiologic imaging procedures.
- Select proper protocols to obtain optimal images and provide clinical documentation within your scope of practice.
- Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies to support quality patient care.
- Coordinate patient care, including effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
- Adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards and follow ALARA principles.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure the continuity of services.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active enrollment in or recent graduation from an ARRT-approved accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute upon hire.
