Student Rad Tech

About the role#

The Student Rad Tech works under the supervision of a Registered Technologist to perform diagnostic procedures. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality exams while building a cooperative relationship with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel. The position is on-site in Newport News, Virginia.

What you'll do#

• Assist radiologists in performing radiologic imaging procedures.
• Select proper protocols to obtain optimal images and provide clinical documentation within your scope of practice.
• Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies to support quality patient care.
• Coordinate patient care, including effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
• Adhere to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards and follow ALARA principles.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure the continuity of services.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active enrollment in or recent graduation from an ARRT-approved accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute upon hire.
