    About the role#

    This is a full-time, 12-week internship program running from May 17, 2027, to August 6, 2027. You will work with the Operations and Maintenance team to support the safe and reliable operation of utility-scale solar facilities. The role is based in Houston, Texas, and requires travel to project sites across the United States and Canada.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist field technicians and site managers with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs.
    • Troubleshoot and evaluate the performance of solar modules, inverters, trackers, and combiner boxes.
    • Collect and analyze field performance data to support operational reliability.
    • Support site audits, safety inspections, and the tracking of key performance indicators.
    • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Management teams on plant optimization.
    • Observe contractor maintenance practices to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
    • Prepare operational reports and maintenance summaries.
    • Present your project findings and recommendations to company leadership at the end of the program.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship.
    • A basic understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technology.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to work safely outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of the time to remote project locations.
    • Ability to walk long distances across solar facilities and climb ladders as needed.
    • A valid driver license with a satisfactory driving record is preferred.
    • Experience interpreting technical documentation and engineering drawings is preferred.
