About the role#
We are seeking an Origination Intern to join our Commercial team for a twelve-week summer program. This role supports our efforts to identify and advance commercial opportunities for renewable energy projects. You will work within a collaborative team to provide solutions for our business and the communities we serve.
What you'll do#
- Support the Origination team by researching renewable energy, power, and environmental commodity markets.
- Help develop and maintain commercial pipelines, customer databases, and market intelligence resources.
- Analyze customer energy usage, pricing structures, and commercial requirements.
- Review market data to identify trends, risks, and competitive dynamics.
- Assist in the evaluation of Power Purchase Agreements, Renewable Energy Certificates, and battery storage opportunities.
- Perform financial and commercial analysis to support customer proposals and negotiations.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and leadership teams.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Legal.
- Use Excel and other business intelligence tools to analyze datasets and provide recommendations.
- Participate in special projects related to business development, market expansion, and revenue optimization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Energy Commerce, Marketing, or Engineering.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship.
- Interest in renewable energy markets, energy origination, business development, or commercial strategy.
- Basic understanding of wholesale power markets, renewable energy products, or energy market fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with financial analysis or market research is preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or CRM platforms is a plus.
