About the role#
Repsol is seeking a GIS Intern to support utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects across the United States. You will work with the Development, Engineering, Environmental, Land, and Operations teams to provide geospatial analysis and mapping support throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain geospatial databases, maps, and spatial datasets.
- Create and manage GIS data for renewable energy development, construction, and operational projects.
- Generate maps and figures for permitting, environmental reviews, engineering design, and stakeholder presentations.
- Conduct spatial analyses on land suitability, environmental constraints, topography, and project siting.
- Assist with data collection and quality control of GIS datasets.
- Prepare cartographic products and web-based mapping applications.
- Integrate geospatial data into project planning and decision-making.
- Research and analyze information using public GIS databases.
- Prepare technical reports and summaries to communicate findings.
- Participate in project meetings and provide mapping support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Engineering, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar software.
- Understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, cartography, and coordinate systems.
- Familiarity with geodatabases, shapefiles, feature services, and data visualization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without a work or student visa.
