About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Chesterfield, Missouri. You will gain exposure to the reinsurance industry, including the full life cycle of a policy. The role focuses on data analytics, reporting, and process improvements within the claims department.
What you'll do#
- Analyze moderately complex claim data to ensure compliance with treaty terms and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Claim Examiners, OSC Processors, and other departments to identify needs and develop solutions.
- Create and execute SQL queries to support data reporting.
- Prepare reports to help management monitor claims production and quality results.
- Participate in internal and client-related claim audits.
- Monitor system data to ensure accurate claim accruals.
- Maintain claims standards and procedures through documentation and process improvements.
- Complete assigned projects under supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to summarize and develop reports from large data sets using SQL and Excel.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a preference for advanced Excel skills.
- A desire to learn, ask questions, and contribute ideas.
- Authorization to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
