About the role#
The Audit Intern role at REDW Advisors & CPAs provides hands-on experience in a professional services firm. You will work one-on-one with team members to develop basic accounting skills while gaining exposure to a variety of clients and industries. This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments and out of town travel.
What you'll do#
- Learn and develop foundational accounting skills through direct mentorship.
- Build and expand client relationships.
- Assist the management team in developing and executing plans to meet client expectations.
- Communicate project status, including scope changes or issues that impact billing and collections, to seniors and managers.
- Execute planned audit approaches and take full responsibility for completing all assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Accounting major with eligibility to sit for the CPA exam within one year.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- A basic understanding of accounting and reporting standards.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards, and Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) standards.
- Ability to travel out of town as required.
