About the role#
As an Actuarial Property & Casualty co-op, you will join the Risk Modelling Services team. You will contribute to risk modeling and insurance consulting for insurance companies, reinsurance firms, and government agencies. This role involves supporting audit functions and engaging in broader risk projects related to climate, cyber risk, and predictive analytics.
What you'll do#
- Provide support for IFRS 17 financial statement audits, including re-performing actuarial liabilities and reviewing valuation methodologies.
- Collaborate with experienced actuaries and the Core Assurance team to ensure actuarial liabilities are presented accurately.
- Assist with a range of consulting services, such as valuation, financial condition testing, model development, and pricing.
- Participate in business development efforts and ad-hoc projects, including process automation and finance modernization.
- Work on cross-functional projects with other internal teams, including Advisory, Tax, and Data & Analytics.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Active progress toward a CIA or CAS designation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in reserving and programming languages like Python or R is considered an asset.
