About the role#
This 8-month co-op position in Calgary is designed for students pursuing their Canadian CPA designation. You will join the Risk Services practice to support assurance development and data enablement. This role focuses on using data to drive insights and helping clients make informed, data-backed decisions. You will work in a collaborative environment, gaining hands-on experience with audit processes and digital tools.
What you'll do#
- Assist with assurance development by building an understanding of client information systems to create automated solutions.
- Engage in specialized assurance tasks, including testing key client reports and ERP system conversions.
- Create Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) pipelines and develop solutions for industry-specific assurance.
- Help clients manage their data to ensure the reliability of business information for decision-making.
- Work with clients to acquire and optimize comprehensive datasets used as the foundation for audits.
- Implement technology for data extraction and transformation to support end-to-end automation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in post-secondary education with progress toward Canadian CPA prerequisite courses.
- Motivation to learn programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Strong skills in prioritization and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
