About the role#
As an Audit Intern within the Japanese Business Network, you will support teams in delivering financial statement audits. You will work with experienced auditors to provide independent assessments for clients. This role focuses on gaining exposure to professional work environments, learning audit methodologies, and contributing to the integrity of financial reporting.
What you'll do#
- Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits for Japanese business clients.
- Review and verify financial documents to confirm accuracy and compliance.
- Apply GAAP and GAAS standards during audit processes.
- Analyze data to identify financial trends and insights.
- Document audit processes and findings.
- Collaborate with team members to manage risks and address issues.
- Observe and learn from experienced auditors to understand internal controls.
- Utilize technical accounting skills to support financial reporting.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application.
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA (3.5 GPA preferred).
- Business level fluency in both Japanese and English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to meet the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment before starting full-time.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Rosemont, IL, Chicago, IL, or Los Angeles, CA.
- Travel requirements are up to 20%.
- This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
