About the role#
As an Actuarial Life Intern, you will join the Risk Modelling Services team to support insurance, reinsurance, and government clients. You will work alongside experienced actuaries on projects ranging from valuation and pricing to financial and capital reporting. This role offers exposure to risk management and the implementation of new laws and regulations, including broader risk modelling in areas like ESG, cyber risk, and predictive analytics.
What you'll do#
- Support IFRS 17 financial statement audits by assessing valuation methodology, assumptions, experience studies, and data validation.
- Collaborate with the Core Assurance team to ensure actuarial liabilities are accurately presented.
- Assist with actuarial consulting services, including model development, model validation, and product development.
- Contribute to business development and ad-hoc projects, such as process automation and AI solution development.
- Engage in cross-functional projects with internal teams including Financial Services Consulting, Advisory, Tax, and Data & Analytics.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Active progress toward a CIA or SOA designation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of actuarial theories, insurance products, and prior actuarial work experience are considered assets.
- Familiarity with Moody’s AXIS, Risk Integrity, data tools like Alteryx or Tableau, and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or VBA is an asset.

- Term: Summer 2027 (early May through mid-August).
